Every tool tells you what it will touch and what it will never touch, shows you the plan before it writes anything, and asks for a typed confirmation when something is destructive. Results go to a history you can read back on the Dashboard.

Straight answers
Does it need a kernel extension or root?
- No kext. Root-only tasks go through a small helper you approve once in System Settings; it only runs a fixed list of commands.
Can it clone my startup disk?
- Not on Apple Silicon — nobody can, the system volume is sealed. Backups & Rebuild drives Time Machine and checks everything a rebuild needs.
Does it write NTFS or ext4?
- macOS itself reads NTFS and reads/writes exFAT/FAT. ext4 needs macFUSE + ext4fuse, third-party open-source drivers that are not bundled — the tool detects whether they are installed, mounts what is possible and says what is not.
What data leaves my Mac?
- Only a hash of your machine identifiers when you activate a license. No analytics, no crash uploads. See the privacy policy.
